A Unique Experience
For children living with Type 1 diabetes, everyday life comes with unique challenges. We believe they deserve equally unique opportunities.
That belief is the foundation of Camp Adam Fisher, an annual summer camp established in 1968 through one father's dream of creating a place where his daughter—and other children with diabetes—could experience all the joys of summer camp in a safe and supportive environment.
Our mission is to provide the fun, friendships, life lessons, and adventures that make summer camp unforgettable while helping children build the confidence and skills they need to manage Type 1 diabetes and live longer, healthier lives. Every camper receives individualized care in a safe, closely monitored setting staffed by experienced medical professionals and dedicated volunteers.
It's simple: one incredible week filled with exciting activities, lasting friendships, personal growth, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Summer Camp
Camp Adam Fisher is a weeklong overnight camp for children ages 6–17 with Type 1 diabetes, as well as their brothers, sisters, and friends. We also offer a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program for teens ages 16–17, providing leadership opportunities while preparing them for future roles at camp.
Each summer, campers travel from across the Southeast to enjoy this "type one-of-a-kind" experience. Along the way, they strengthen their diabetes management skills, build self-confidence, form lifelong friendships, and discover that they are never alone in their journey.
Camp Adam Fisher is held at the R.M. Cooper 4-H Leadership Center, situated on a beautiful 110-acre peninsula along the Wyboo Creek section of Lake Marion in Summerton, South Carolina, just 15 minutes from Interstate 95. The scenic lakeside setting provides the perfect backdrop for adventure, learning, and unforgettable summer memories.
